UPDATE YOUR BLOG

• Post an image of your completed "Frankenstein" project.
• Post a map using arrows to show the MOVEMENT from emphasis to emphasis in your image.
• Post screenshots of the LAYERS you used too.

JUXTAPOSE- Creativity Challenge

THE CHALLENGE 

Combine TWO images using LAYER MASKS to create a visually interesting result. Use contrast in image, color, and value.

DESIGN EXAMPLES

"Op artists", like BRIDGET RILEY  and VICTOR VASARELY
are great examples of how patterns can be used to make interesting visuals.


TOOLS 

Layer masks
Selecting tools (wand, select by color range)
Adjustment Layers


COOL TRICK

Create a black and white design in Illustrator, then drag it into Photoshop and create a mask from it....

OR

Use select by color range to select parts of an image to use as a mask on ANOTHER image....



Here is one example using a pattern as a mask:


And the Layers I used....


AND using a photo as a mask:





 I used the "select by color range" to select the face.... then made it into a mask!




Notice the Layer Mask is the same as the face!

CREATIVITY CHALLENGE

Describe and Communicate as much as you can about an object using only photos, not words.....

1. Describe how it LOOKS- its shape, size, surface texture, weight.....

2. Describe how it works, what it does...or do something to it...

TOOLS

Use your phone or ipad to create images of the object...

Consider: 

• How Close or Far away you are to the object
• The ANGLE of the photo
• CLARITY- blurred or sharp the image is
• TRICKS- panorama settings, time lapse, short video...... slide show.... others?


COMMUNICATE your information by posting the images on your blog...

Consider:
• the order of the images
• the size of the images
• the spacing of the images on the blog post....
